Unforgettable moments on the sun-kissed Tschögglberg!!

sun- kissed Verano village

The small village of Verano in the Merano countryside lies at an altitude of 1200 meters southside on the Tschögglberg, a mountain ridge between Merano and Bolzano. The climate is very mild from spring to late autumn and invites you to relaxed walks and hikes. Sunworshippers will love it in Verano in South Tyrol: on the shortest days of the year the sun shines here until 4 pm, while down in Adige Valley it has dawn long before!

The sunny Tschögglberg plateau offers a variety of hiking possibilities; on foot, on horseback of a lovely Haflinger or on your mountain bike. On well signed paths and hiking trails you can reach alpine pastures, cultic hills and fascinating larch forests. The nature here on the sun-drenched Tschögglberg is always captivating with magnificent views over the surrounding valleys and mountains!

During spring time the “Salten” invites you to hike and ride by horse on its crocus covered meadows and larch forests. More there is a new adventure trail for families and Haflinger horse fans that tells the story of Haflinger horse along 10 different stages in the nearby village of Avelengo. Worth a visit!

In summer cultic hills as the “Stoanernen Mandlen” (men of stones) and the famous “Knottnkino” (rock cinema) attract visitors and offer unforgettable experiences close to nature.

An extensive network of paths offers many hikes to alpine pastures and mountain restaurants. The long moutai trail E5 is optimal for mountaineers and crosses wonderful places like the lake of “Kratzberg” or the peak of “Ifinger”.

Here in the sunny Verano we celebrate our saint of the village every last sunday of July, the “Aschler Kirchtag”: an authentic folk fest with local food, brass music and a small parade.

The traditional “Stadelefest” (along the old barns leading to Vöraner Alm”) takes place on the last sunday in August. A variety of local specialities are served here and many activities entertain you: pony riding, jumping in the fresh mown hay, children make-up and lots more. Ideal for families with small kids!

moments of relaxation
